There have been countless occasions when Pakistani actors and actresses and even designers failed to travel to India to promote or showcase their own work. Be it Javed Sheikh, Sonya Jehan or Humaima Malick, all of them have either lost work opportunites or missed out on events at the hands of visa officers. However, it seems Imran Abbas remains the most vulnerable amongst all. It was only last year that Imran Abbas could not attend the music launch or be part of promotional campaigns for his Bollywood debut Creature 3D and the curse has continued into this year.

Although in India for the promotion of his upcoming film in Jaanisaar with Pernia Qureshi, the actor is having trouble moving across cities as the visa issued to him is only valid for certain cities – the reason why he recently had to cancel his tour to Chandigarh. “We were in Lucknow when we got to know that Imran won’t be able to travel to Chandigarh as it was not covered under his travel visa,” revealed a source close to him. “We didn’t want to go ahead without him, so cancelled the visit altogether. Since it was a last-minute decision, the organizers were in a bit of a soup. We couldn’t do much apart from apologizing profusely to them.”

Unfortunately, Imran will also be missing out on the premiere of his film on August 7 since his visa expires two days prior to it. Let’s hope the film’s opening is enough to make him happy while he is all the way in Pakistan.
