With season 2 of Quantico in her bag along with the prestigious Padma Shri Award, a special invitation to the White House from President Barrack Obama and a prominent role in Baywatch, Priyanka Chopra has swiftly moved from being the exotic Indian actress to becoming a global star in the past couple of years. Hence, it was only a matter of time that the actress made it to Time magazine’s coveted list of the 100 Most Influential People.

The actress, who is also gracing one of the six cover pages of the magazine, got a heartfelt tribute from her Baywatch co-star Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock which goes to show that Pee Cee has had a resounding impact on the American audience and is here to stay. “Before ever meeting Priyanka Chopra, I had heard her name coming out of Bollywood and was impressed: she was beautiful, talented, had made nearly 50 movies, earned multiple awards — a massive star,” he wrote. “It’s an amazing time to watch as she pierces the US market. She has an ability to inspire people to do more and achieve more. When I look at her success from the 50,000 feet view and see everything that Priyanka has already done, is currently doing and has the desire and the bandwidth to do, I can see that her impact is going to be invaluable.”

Priyanka obviously took note of Johnson’s heartwarming piece and took to Twitter to thank the actor. “Thank you @therock ‘so humbled by your amazing words #Time100 Can’t wait to join you guys on set for #Baywatch in a few days,” she posted alongside a snapshot of Johnson’s tribute.

This year’s list also features big names like actor Idris Elba, actress Taraji P. Henson of Empire, Caitlyn Jenner and tennis player Sania Mirza.
