Robert Downey Jr. has his hands full with Iron Man. Though Iron Man 4 is not on the cards just yet, you’ll see him cruise around in his metal suit a bunch of times.

First up is Captain America: Civil War, in which the superheroes turn on each other. While Downey’s Iron Man will star in a prominent role, Thor and Hulk have been left out of this film while a new Spider Man will join this divided team.

Downey is also starring in the next two Avengers film. And it seems that both the Marvel studio and the audience (going by box office numbers) have no issues seeing him return in yet another film, once again as Iron Man.

The film will be the revamped, standalone Spider-Man film called Spider-Man: Homecoming, in which he will continue to mentor the young superhero. British star Tom Holland, 19, is signed on to play Spider-Man after Andrew Garfield was unceremoniously kicked off the project.

All this means that Downey has no time left to do any other kind of film. A case in point: Sherlock Holmes franchise. After starring in two films, rumours suggest that the actor will not come back for the third and final hurrah.

As for the studio bankrolling this whole shindig, they are not looking to slow down anytime soon. With Doctor Strange also on the cards, it looks like the year will belong to Marvel in this comic mythology-driven era.
