KARACHI: Renowned actor and drama writer, Kamal Ahmed Rizvi on Thursday passed away after protracted illness at his residence in Karachi.
Rizvi, 85, became famous after playing his role in one of the PTV’s most celebrated sitcoms Alif Noon alongside Rafi Khawar (Nanha) in 1970s and 80s. His role in Mr Shaitan was also very popular amongst the audience.
Rizvi had excelled in highlighting social evils through comedy and satire as the two mentioned TV shows are testament of the fact.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has expressed deep grief over his demise.
Paying glowing tribute to the famous actor and writer, the premier said the space that has been created by his death in the literary circles would be difficult to fill.
