Director Anurag Basu, who has delivered several interesting Hindi films like Barfi!, Life in a Metro and Gangster, thinks Salman Khan is boring. Whether the filmmaker realizes or not, those who trash Salman Khan often find themselves isolated from within the industry. A case in point: Vivek Oberoi. Now it seems Anurag has joined this illustrious list by coming out against Salman’s acting and choice of films.

The story goes that at a recent press event, the director said that he would rather work with ‘risky’ Ranbir Kapoor (given his choice of roles) than ‘boring’ Salman Khan. Of course, none of these statements can take away from the fact that Salman Khan is box office gold. His latest, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, is still flying high and has entered the 200 crore club without any difficulty.

And while Salman Khan has also moved onto to his next project, Sultan, Anurag Basu’s next film, post-Barfi, is currently in doldrums. The film titled, Jagga Jasoos, is nowhere near completion. A source close to the project revealed, “They started making Jagga Jasoos as a full Broadway styled musical with every dialogue sung by Ranbir and Katrina. After about 30 percent of the film they felt this format was not working. So they scrapped the songs and started from scratch.”

Anurag, meanwhile, maintains that the delay in Jagga Jasoos was planned since Ranbir Kapoor, who is starring in the film and also donning the hat of co-producer, prefers a six month gap between films.

“We have not shot the film. Ranbir is shooting Karan Johar’s film. I have only shot few days when he was free. Our film was always supposed to come after Bombay Velvet and Tamasha. When I started my film I knew this is going to be my schedule as Ranbir keeps a gap of six months. No actor would release two films in two months. This was the chronology that was to happen.”

At this point, there are also rumours that Katrina Kaif is dropping the film while Ranbir is staying out of the alleged cold fight between Katrina and Anurag.
