The Zevar Hall never looked more regal before that evening for it was decorated to look palatial, replicating Mor Mahal. Guests were really touched, as the hosts welcoming them adorned royal gowns and held relevant props, including swords and staffs. A royal arrangement was staged and it all felt extravagantly theatrical. The display did justice to give it the actual theme of the drama—the fantasy world of Mor Mahal.

The press meet-up following the launch of the drama was scheduled for Tuesday, April 26, at the Pearl Continental hotel. The red carpet event – hosted by the stunningly gorgeous Nadia Hussain – was planned, as per the invitation cards, to start at 6:00 PM. Hussain interviewed most of the cast and crew members of the new sensational production. Other notable celebrities also showed up and admired the master work of A&B productions – Geo Entertainment.

The official press meet-up began after the red carpet showdown. Sarmad Salman Khoosat took to the stage and entertained guests’ questions. For instance, when asked why the upcoming drama was rumored to be inspired by the popular drama serials, ‘Game of Thrones’ and Mera Sultan, Sarmad answered, “Don’t compare this with those shows as Mor Mahal portrays more of the domestic heritage. It is not an imitation. It is a fantasy world where we depict Mughals (Emperors); their wives, Kaneez (Slaves), Khuwaja Sara (eunuchs) and Harem (Palace).”

To a question, by a guest, on why people should watch the drama, the director replied amusingly, “Because it’ll be a sin if you don’t (chuckles). You wouldn’t wanna break my heart”, he continued, “well, there’ll be similarities due to the fact that it’s an Emperor’s tale, but in a larger perspective, it’s entirely different and focuses more on the Emperor’s regime, their routine and the morals.”

Sarmad added, “There were only so many ways an emperor could entertain himself since there was no facebook and youtube that time around, which explains the singing and dancing.”

On a question regarding the cast, Sarmad amazed everyone by admitting, “Even Hina Bayad & Sania Saeed had to audition before they were casted.”

“The whole cast had to attend the workshop for more than a week to learn how to walk the walk and talk the talk.” (Woah!) This mere fact is enough for people to watch the drama, said to be the new talk of the town and believed to be one of a kind.

Zaheen Kamran, the face behind Mor Mahal jewelry, shared that she designed jewelry particularly for each cast member to suit their individual characters.

Unlike other productions, Mor Mahal owned the jewelry instead of renting it.

Also, Nabeela (Yes, the supercalifragilisticexpialidocious makeup artist…Don’t be mad, it’s believed that way), “personally and physically prepared every cast-member and made them camera-ready according to their characters,” said Ali Saleem (Shola Jaan).

Before calling it a day and asking everyone toward Hi-Tea, Sarmad had called upon every cast member (that was present) over the stage and once they were done expressing their feelings — that they learned so much from this project and it gave finesse to their acting skills— left the stage. Later Umair enchanted everyone with his extraordinary voice singing few verses from the OST.

The press meet-up eventually ended with hi-tea and the guests being served Pan (Beetle leaves) as royal custom of the sub-continent and everyone bid adieu to the gathering leaving remarks and wishes for the drama.
