With the release and success of Kapoor & Sons, Fawad Khan’s celebrity status has risen further. The film opened to mostly positive reviews, but more to the point, the new K.Jo film about a dysfunctional family has firmly cemented Fawad Khan’s position as someone who can act and has the capacity to grow with every film.
So, it hardly comes as a surprise that Bollywood is abuzz with rumours that Fawad Khan will quite possibly star opposite Deepika Padukone in a Karan Johar film.
Of course, it’ll be a while before we see anything since Fawad Khan is scheduled to work on the Alamgir biopic next and will follow it up with Bilal Lashari’s Maula Jutt remake, which also features the righteous moral leader of our entertainment world, the one and only Hamza Ali Abbasi.
Back to Fawad, the actor is on a roll. From having the courage to play a role that could’ve had the potential blowback to his sartorial choices to the many brand endorsements, Fawad, it seems, can do no wrong. His brilliant camaraderie with Sidharth Malhotra in Kapoor & Sons has also caught the attention of the Internet and is one that is rivaling all other bro-mance(s) in Bollywood these days, which is not easy.
After the SRK-Salman bromance (which led to both superstars promoting each other’s film on social media) and Arjun Kapoor-Ranveer Singh’s bromance in Gunday, it’s Fawad Khan and Sidharth Malhotra whose onscreen-off-screen relationship is making news. Will Bollywood’s love affair with Fawad Khan end anytime soon, only time will tell.
