Cricket fans on both sides of the border are already in frenzy over the upcoming ICC World T20 match between Pakistan and India (Saturday, March 19) and the arena just got a bit more star-studded. News is that India’s legendary superstar Amitabh Bachchan and Pakistan’s classical singer Shafaqat Amanat Ali will be singing their respective national anthems before the day-night match, to be held at the Eden Gardens, Kolkatta.

While Bachchan confirmed the news by re-tweeting a post that said he is going to sing the national anthem before the match, sources from Cricket Association of Bengal – that is hosting this Indo-Pak event – maintained that Ali will sing Pakistan’s national anthem. We are sure the two legends will play all the right notes and serve as a motivation for both the teams.

Even though the Pak team initially had reservations going to India over security concerns, the team is now set to perform against India on what is not less than a battlefield for the two teams. Both the teams have won the ICC World T20 once before.
