Captain America star Chris Evans believes no other superhero movies can match ones set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

The actor is set to return to screens as the title character in Captain America: Civil War, the 13th movie made by Marvel Studios to be set in the MCU.

The star feels Marvel movies, which include those featuring Captain America and other members of the Avengers superhero team, cannot be copied or matched as they keep getting bigger and better.

“Let’s keep going, let’s let the wave get bigger and bigger, it’s not like they’re making bad movies, they’re making great movies and if you want to put them in this superhero box you can but they’re good movies,” he told America’s Variety magazine. “They’ve (Marvel Studios) got a monopoly on it, they’re doing it and no one else can try and copy it.”

The Marvel films have enjoyed a run of critical and box office success since the first instalment in the franchise, Iron Man hit screens in 2008.

However, they now face competition for comic book fans loyalties from DC Comics andWarner Bros new Justice League series, which will see popular characters includingSuperman, Batman and Wonder Woman join forces on screen in a similar way to characters from the MCU.

The second film in that franchise, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice opened last month (Mar16) and topped the U.S. and U.K. box office charts despite a deluge of bad reviews.
