"Film and TV actor Adnan Siddiqui will be sharing the screen with Sridevi in the upcoming Bollywood film, Mom."

Pakistan’s latest import to Bollywood, Adnan Siddiqui has landed a prominent role in an upcoming Bollywood film called Mom opposite veteran actress Sridevi (who made a successful comeback to the big screen in 2012 with with Gauri Shinde’s English Vinglish).

Siddiqui, who was recently spotted in Georgia shooting for the film with his Indian co-stars, will essay the role of Sridevi’s husband in the upcoming film.

“He (Adnan) is playing Sridevi’s husband so it has to be something big,” a source close to the film shared with Instep. “If the film has 120 scenes in total, he is part of 40 scenes out of that,” revealed the source. Siddiqui has shot for the opening scene as well as the climax of the film. However, the middle part of the film is yet to be shot.

Mom is a women-centric film that basically revolves around the character of Sridevi who is playing the role of a stepmother in the film. “She is the hero as well as the heroine of the film,” the source maintained, sharing information on terms of anonymity.

The film also marks the Bollywood debut of Pakistani actress Sajal Ali, who was recently seen in the drama serial Gul-e-Rana which showcased her versatility as an actor. In Mom, Ali will be essaying the role of Sridevi’s stepdaughter, a role that is considered important since the film centers upon the relationship dynamics between these two women.

Most of the film has been shot in India with some sequences shot in Georgia, Russia.

Produced by Boney Kapoor, the film also stars Akshaye Khanna while Nawazuddin Siddiqui will make a special appearance.

Back to Siddiqui, his career spans over two decades and as an actor, he is simply terrific. With a number of hit TV plays under his belt, Siddiqui, it seems is all set to make a mark in Bollywood.

In addition, the actor is also starring in the upcoming war film Yalghaar. In the meantime, you can catch him essaying the role of an artist in the ongoing drama serial Pakeeza alongside Aamina Sheikh and Alyy Khan.
